Hello, my name is Boxer and I'm just a regular horse that works and live for/in the animal farm. Now, between two farms there's a really strong battle and I don't really want to get involved in it. While everyone is fighting and giving their opinions on this awful battle I work. I believe that if I work and don't say anything I will do good and will not be involved in any problem.
I think that the only people that is taking this seriously are the two leaders of the farms, Napoleon and Snowball. Everyone is obeying to their orders just to not be killed or not accepted in their farm/kicked out. I don't want to say anything because I don't want to be killed and want to live a normal life, but in reality I think that Snowball is not that bad. Everyone is blaming on Snowball but he didn't do a lot of things that my farm is blaming him for.
What really pisses me off about this battle are the body guards, the dogs, because they are not protecting their leader because they believe in his ideals, but because they know that if they unite to him they will be secure by their leader for the rest of the battle.

In the beginning the
animals were not equal when the farmer was in the farm. When the farmer got
out, the pigs took control of the farm. The worst thing of it all is that all
the other animals accepted this fact. In the end the animals were equal as the
humans and the humans were equal as the animals. It didn’t make any difference
between the beginning and the end.
The idea of Animal Farm, in my opinion lost
strength through the book. At the beginning it had a lot more strength in my
opinion because the animals had a farmer that took care of all the necessities
of the animals. When the farmer was in the farm the animals didn’t have any
charge. The animals had equal rights and in the end they didn’t even
differentiate equality and what they were living in the end.
Squealer played the role of propaganda in the
book, telling all the animals the newest news and what was happening in the
moment. He was really effective in his job. What he did the best was letting
all the animals know everything fast. For example when the 7 commandments were
changing and were restructuring all the animals knew it thanks to Squealer.
This quote clearly explains that there are
people more important than others in a very soft manner. Yes, this is true and
this happened in real life. It’s incredible that people really viewed this as
normal and view the leader that was saying this as a good ruler. The author was
trying to make the reader realize that it was an authoritarian government and
that they thought like animals, the author was comparing humans with animals.
Paula,
ReplyDeleteI like that you chose Boxer as your character. I think it would be good for you to review your notes for the chapter to review the events and your understanding of what happened. The prompt asked you to talk about your role in the Battle of Cowshed. Boxer was a really important character in that battle, and I didn't really get a good sense that you fully understood what happened in the book and his role specifically. Your understanding of Napoleon and snowball is good, as well as the detail you used. The last paragraph you should check for accuracy. Are the dogs not protecting their leader? Who is their leader? Were they involved in the battle? Please check with a classmate or with me for some feedback and a review of this part of the book. I feel your writing will better reflect your thoughts once you have a good understanding of the content.
ReplyDeletePaula,
I have seen good improvement from your last essay to this post. Your thoughts are clearer, and your writing mechanics are much better. I was really able to have a clear understanding of the points you were making in your post. I really feel that you understood the story pretty well. Make sure to use specific examples from the book to illustrate your points, so that the reader can make a clear connection.
I liked that you supported the former life the animals had when they were ran by the farmer. This is not a perspective that most of your peers shared, and I applaud your perspective on this! I like that risk taking!
Overall, I would like you to have included some more detail in order support a little better your analysis and thoughts. However, overall, I understood the points you were making and saw a good improvement!!! Keep up the good work!!
