Hello my name is Boxer. I am a hard worker and a great follower. We are producing a lot of food for the farm and for the economy of all of us. This is going to help the farm in many ways and we are going to be able to have a better organization of everything. Hard work is paying off in the farm and i'm very happy to be working for this hard worker family. Now that i have the time to think about the thing that happened, for me, the Battle of Cowshed was a battle full of emotions. I felt anger and fear. I was fighting the farmers and suddenly a kid comes running towards me and i thought he wanted to attack me so i hit him with a rock and though i was dead. I couldn't believe what just happened so i ran away.
Napoleon and Snowball were fighting like always but this time i could notice it was something more serious, the conflict was starting to heat up and i couldn't do anything, if i get in something can happen to me. I supported Snowball in the fight because for me he is the most honest pig in the farm but i cannot say anything now because i can get expel of the farm. I want to keep working hard for the progress and i don't have anywhere to go. Snowball is the pig that can lead us to freedom because of his way of thinking, the way a leader has to be. I could see how Snowball took the shot in the back to save a partner, thats something really brave where a leader stands out for their people. My duty is to work and i live to work hard all the time, i fear the dogs. The bodyguards are mean and fearful, i see what they can and its not fun. Another thing i fear is the small pigs taking all the decisions because they don't have the experience to be the ones in charge. They are the future of the farm but first they need to learn about how to be good leader. Snowball worked day and night on the plans for the Windmill and it was his idea, Napoleon comes all of the sudden and says its his. I cannot do anything about it but i know its not fair. The Windmill is something that is going to helps create more resources and energy for the farm, its the best for us.
My future in the farm is going to be hard working all the time and its all i want to do, i don't want to get in any trouble but we need to do something about Napoleon, he is not being fair anymore. I like to work for the farm so we can keep growing and its what i'm planning to do, nevertheless we can join together and kick Napoleon out for the best of us. Its all this simple, work and work until we can do something but someday we have to do something.

EXAMPLE #1:
I remember the battle as if it was yesterday, the great snowball planned all perfectly: we, the ducks attacked first and our mission was to make the farmers believe they had won by letting them go through our attack. Everything was a distraction; we had a second attacked planned.
EXAMPLE #2:
I feel happy to be part of this hard working family where hard work pays off. Now that i have the time to think about the things that happened in the Battle of Cowshed, I can tell I felt a whole quantity of emotions.
EXAMPLE #3:
During this battle there was a big fight and i was very scared. I started to kick everything I saw and kicked a boy in his head with my iron horseshoe, he got knocked out. Mr. Jones carried a gun all the time and one day there was a sheep in our side and he killed it. At the end of the war ,we made a funeral in honor of this sheep.

The animal farm was not the same, Napoleon was a different ruler and they couldn't express what they thought about the farm. Napoleon was taking all the decisions as before, tall the animals had a right to vote for what they wanted. If they said something about the decisions made, Napoleon would take the decision to eliminate that animal, seen as a characteristic of a true dictator. All the animals were happy to be in the farm, and now we could see that the only thing they were doing was work without much rest to keep the farm producing, as Napoleon told them. Something else that change was the view as how the reader saw Napoleon, he was a normal pig that used to fight with Snowball for power, but that power blinded him and made it a monster in power.
I dont think that the animal farm was a strong in terms of being unite, because now each one of them was following the work path as it was the only thing they could do. The farm is still strong but they are not happy anymore and they don't do it for the farm anymore, they are doing it to follow Napoleons orders. The idea of equality change completely because now some animals were different from others, some of them were more equal and "higher class". They weren't equal anymore, Napoleon wanted to have a better class by his side, and changed their minds so they could think that some animals were more equal than others. This means that some of them were better than the others. My opinion is that at the beginning of the farm when they took over it, all the animals were equal because we could see that they had free expression in what they could say. Each one of the animals had an specific job and they were happy to be there.
Squealer was a perfect persuader and a brilliant talker so Napoleon uses that when he starts his regime to make people think that Napoleon is taking the best decisions for them. We can see that Squealer is the one that hides the fact that Jones is coming back but in form of a pig. He is the one that justifies what happened to the windmill and who had the idea to re armed, he created rumors about Snowball and often changed the amendments they had stablished so Napoleon could be benefited.
This quote symbolized the absolute equality of the citizens but at the same time it gave more power to the people in power like Stalin in this case. We could see that he wanted their citizens to have the same rights but he wasn't included as the population, he was something more power that possessed more privileges than the normal people. It was true because he got benefited from this decision he took in terms of power. The point that the author was trying to establish was that dictators often see themselves as more than people, as the rules of the whole world and they should have more of this privileges than the citizens in their country.
Paco,
ReplyDeleteOverall, it is clear that you have an understanding of what happened on the farm. Make sure that your supporting details are correct when you are writing a perspective piece. For example, you wrote that Boxer hit the kid with a rock, when it was really with his hoof. Making sure you are using accurate statements will help the reader begin to trust your writing and the details in it. I like how much detail you used when discussing the rift between Napoleon and Snowball. Please make sure to proof your writing before publishing. There were several grammatical and mechanic areas for improvement. Using correct grammar and punctuation will help the reader flow through your writing more easily. Overall, good use of detail and understanding of the events!
ReplyDeletePaco,
Nice job. I really liked seeing your analysis and thoughts about the change that occurred in the story over time. I loved this statement: "Something else that change was the view as how the reader saw Napoleon, he was a normal pig that used to fight with Snowball for power, but that power blinded him and made it a monster in power." I think this is a powerful statement that really solidifies a key element of the story.
Overall, your ideas and thoughts were great. Make sure you have someone proof read your post so that there are less areas for improvement with grammar and mechanics. Although there were some issues, I still understood your analysis and thoughts about what was going on in the book.
Your last paragraph was a good way to sum up for the reader what the important historical connection was. This is a GREAT WAY to end your concluding paragraph: "The point that the author was trying to establish was that dictators often see themselves as more than people, as the rules of the whole world and they should have more of this privileges than the citizens in their country." Great job, Paco! I have seen great improvement in your writing from your last essay until now.
